Pot Designs

The farm animal designs have always been a runaway success, with the emphasis changing every few years to a different creature becoming more sought after.

Currently the speckled hen or spotty cockerels are the ones Heather can't make enough of, closely followed by puffins. Sheep now alternate with fat spotty pigs around the edges of bowls, jugs and elsewhere, as do stripy cats and dachshunds.

The very distinctive puffin design is sometimes mixed up with mermaids and shells plus fish, to complete a sea-shore theme. Hearts and a swim-suit clad duo make an amusing couples gift.

All the work is hand thrown on a potters wheel or built from rolled slabs of terracotta clay. Each pot is coated in a creamy white slip, painted in bright underglaze colours, then sealed in a transparent glaze which is fired to 1120 C.
